Analysis$8.3bnThursday 29 October 2026

Kwanza-denominated credit to the economy reached about $8.3 billion (Kz7.6trn) in September, up 11.9 percent from a year earlier, according to central bank data. Gross credit to the non-financial sector rose 12.2 percent to about $10 billion (Kz9.5trn), with the private sector taking 85 percent of it.

Steady credit growth to private borrowers is a useful monthly read on lending momentum in Angola's banking sector.
