Financing · completed$102mFriday 30 October 2026

The African Development Bank announced it successfully completed its first dirham-denominated bond, worth about $100 million (MAD 1bn), as a private placement with qualified investors. The issue lets the institution diversify its Moroccan funding, which has mainly been in euros and dollars.

It gives the AfDB a new local-currency funding channel in Morocco that could support more dirham-denominated project lending.
